
Membership in the IP/MPLS Forum entitles you to certain
rights, which in turn deliver key benefits back to your company. Click Here
for an overview of these benefits. To join the IP/MPLS Forum, please complete the
following list of actions:
- Download and fill out our Membership Applications.
- Review the IP/MPLS Forum Bylaws
- Forward the completed application to the IP/MPLS Forum.
- Include an appropriate form of payment (check, purchase order or credit
card authorization).
- If applying for either Small Company, Non-Profit, or User status, include
sufficient evidence that your company meets the specified qualifications.

IP/MPLS Forum member companies fall into one of five membership classes: Large Company Principal
Members; Small Company Principal Members; Non-Profit Members: Auditing Members;
and User Members. (See Below for the annual dues structure). Membership
in the IP/MPLS Forum entitles each member company to the following rights:
- Attendance at all committee working meetings*.
- Attendance at all annual, general and special meetings of the IP/MPLSForum.
- One vote on all IP/MPLS Forum ballots and issues*.
- Access to all working documents, meeting minutes, and member-only e-mail
exploder lists.
- Access to all education materials developed by the IP-MPLS Forum for use within
your company.
- Ability to run for Board of Director and Committee Officer positions per
the IP/MPLS Forum Bylaws*.
- Ability to submit contributions to the Technical and Marketing Committees*.
- Discounts on many MPLS-related conferences and events throughout the year.
* Principle and Non-Profit members only
Membership dues are paid annually with membership in the IP/MPLS Forum valid from January
1st to December 31st.
Principal Member**:
Both for-profit and non-profit organizations*** are eligible for this
membership.
- May attend all Technical Committee working meetings.
- May attend all annual, general and special meetings of the IP/MPLS Forum.
- May vote on all IP/MPLS Forum ballots and issues (one vote per company)
- May access all working documents, meeting minutes and member e-mail exploder lists.
- May access all IP/MPLS Forum education materials and use them for internal company education
- May run for Board of Director and Committee Officer positions (per Bylaws)
- May submit contributions to the Technical, Marketing and other committees
- May obtain special IP/MPLS Forum discounts to conferences and events throughout the year.
**Small Company Principal members must have had revenues
of less than $10 million US in the previous year to qualify for this class.
***Non-Profit Members must provide proof of non-profit
status to qualify for this class.
Auditing Member:
- May attend the IP/MPLS Forum Annual Meeting
- May access IP/MPLS Forum working documents and contributions
- May access all IP/MPLS Forum education materials and use them for internal company education
- May subscribe to IP/MPLS Forum email lists
- May NOT attend technical, interoperability or marketing committee meetings of the IP/MPLS Forum
- May NOT vote on any IP/MPLS Forum issues
- May NOT comments on any contributions or working documents
- May NOT submit contributions
- May NOT participate in IP/MPLS Forum organized interoperability demos
- May NOT run for Board of Director and Committee Officer positions
User Member:
User Members must be true end users of IP/MPLS Forum technology. Service providers
and other companies that resell their MPLS network services are not eligible
for this membership category. User membership applications must be approved
by both the User Committee and the Board of Directors.
- May send one representative to the IP/MPLS Forum Annual Meeting
- May send an unlimited number of representatives to User Committee
Meetings
- May vote on User Committee matters
- May subscribe to the User Committee and Marketing Committee email
lists
- May access all working documents & meeting minutes
- May access all IP/MPLS Forum education materials and use them for internal
company education
- May NOT attend any committee meetings of the IP/MPLS Forum, except by
invitation
- May NOT subscribe to any IP/MPLS Forum technical email lists
- May NOT vote on any IP/MPLS Forum issues that are unrelated to the User
Committee
- May NOT participate in IP/MPLS Forum organized interoperability demos
- May NOT run for Board of Director and Committee Officer positions
Interoperability Lab Member:
Testing laboratories may qualify for special memberships.
