
Q: What is the IP/MPLS Forum?
A: The IP/MPLS Forum is an international, non-profit association of service providers, equipment vendors, testing centers and enterprise users. The Forum's mission is to drive the global success of IP/MPLS-based technology, networks, and services while focusing on application and deployment solutions.
Q: Who are the members of the IP/MPLS Forum?
A: The IP/MPLS Forum is made up of companies who have come
together to advance the deployment of multi-vendor multi-service packet-based
networks and services. Our membership is made up of (a) network equipment
vendors; (b) service providers and carriers; (c) suppliers of software and
silicon solutions; and (d) companies involved with testing and Interoperability,
including both test equipment vendors and Interoperability test labs. Click

Q: How does the IP/MPLS Forum operate?
A: Through the efforts of the technical
and marketing
committees, as well as the Service Provider Council (SPC) the forum encourages:
(a) input to the development of standards throughout the various industry
standards groups; (b) the creation of Specifications, based upon appropriate
standards, on how to build and deliver multi-service packet-based networks
and services; (c) the definition of Interoperability test suites and coordination
of Interoperability events and; (d) the creation and delivery of educational
programs to educate the industry about multi-service packet-based services
and solutions.
Q: Who are the individuals that lead the IP/MPLS Forum?
A: The IP/MPLS Forum leadership team is comprised of individuals
from the member companies who have been elected or appointed to their respective
roles as well as the full-time Forum staff hired to manage the day-to-day
operations. This includes the Board
of Directors, the Technical
Committee Leaders the Marketing
Committee Leaders and the IP/MPLS
Forum Staff.
