Course Overview:
This half day tutorial focuses on the emerging industry standards/agreements supporting multicast in BGP/MPLS VPN and VPLS networks. Key options, benefits and tradeoffs are explored for solutions supporting several prevalent service provider and enterprise applications. Key existing and emerging industry standards/agreements are referenced.

Section 1: Introduction to Multicast with MPLS
- Upstream Labels with P2MP LSPs
- Usage of P2MP LSPs
Section 2: Multicast with BGP/MPLS VPNs (2547 VPNs)
- Overview of goals, what it is, how it works and scalability
Section 3: Multicast in VPLS networks
- Overview of multicast with VPLS and H-VPLS
- Options for optimization, resiliency and delivering assured QoE
- Deploying VPLS and P2MP MPLS
