Introduction to Voice over MPLS (Half-Day)

Course Overview:
The half-day tutorial Introduction to Voice over MPLS Tutorial is focused on the MPLS and Frame Relay Alliance's Voice over MPLS Implementation Agreement. An overview of existing packet voice transport architectures and the relationship between VoMPLS and VoIP/MPLS is provided. Fundamental to the tutorial is an in depth examination of VoMPLS architecture and technology. Also, discussed are pertinent initiatives and developments at the ITU-T and IETF. We finish the tutorial with a discussion on the market drivers behind the VoMPLS initiative.

Intended Audience:
This course is intended for those who already have a familiarity with MPLS technology and want to learn more about Voice over MPLS services. It is assumed that the attendee has a basic understanding of MPLS protocols and how MPLS packet forwarding operates. The intended audience for this tutorial are those who work in marketing, product management, quality assurance, customer support, applications engineering, systems engineering, network operations staff or those development engineers who are new to the area of Voice over MPLS.
