

Michael Behringer

Michael Behringer works at Cisco Systems as a distinguished engineer,
where he focuses on service provider core and security issues, such as
MPLS security, NGN security, and Denial-of-Service attack prevention.
Prior to joining Cisco in 1998, he worked at the European Internet Service
Provider DANTE, based in Cambridge, UK. Here he attained the position
of senior network engineer and was responsible for the design and implementation
of DANTE's pan-European networks.
Michael holds a diploma in computer science from the Technical University
of Munich. He is an active member of the IETF, and has published several
papers, RFCs, and a book on MPLS VPN security.

Matthew Bocci is Director of Technology and Standards with Alcatel-Lucent's IP Division. He is a regular contributor to the IP/MPLS Forum,
where he is chair of the Applications Working Group, and the IETF, he co-chairs the ANCP working group and is secretary of the PWE3 working group.
His particular interests include traffic management and applications of MPLS, serving as editor of new standards in both.

Peter Busschbach

As Director of the Lucent Technologies Chief Technology Office, Peter Busschbach
is responsible for technical standards strategy in the area of MPLS, Ethernet
and Virtual Private Networks. Furthermore, he analyzes key industry market
and technology trends and helps to translate these factors into new products
and features.
Mr. Busschbach joined Lucent in 1986 and has held various positions in
software development, systems engineering, product management and solutions
sales support.
Mr. Busschbach holds an M. Sc in Mathematics from the Technical University
Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

and optical networking industries. Prior to his current position, Dave has

Dr. Luyuan Fang

Senior Product Manager
Dr. Luyuan Fang has over 17 years of experience in the telecom and computing industries. Since 2000, she has worked extensively in IP/MPLS VPN carrier network design and engineering. She has recently joined Cisco as a senior product manager responsible for Service Provider Wireline Segment. Her work involves Carrier/Metro Ethernet, aggregation and transport technologies, IPv6, and various MPLS solutions. Prior to joining Cisco, she worked for AT&T labs, Racal Datacom, Nortel, and Telstra research labs. As a primary contributor in the design and deployment of MPLS VPN in the AT&T IP backbone, Luyuan has gained a unique first-hand perspective of the practical challenges involved in BGP/MPLS VPN deployment using MPLS networks.
Luyuan is an active contributor in IETF, where she has co-authored 7 RFCs and several Internet Drafts in the MPLS, L2 and L3 VPN, IDR, and Traffic Engineering Working Groups, including Provider Provisioned VPN Security Framework (RFC 4111). Luyuan is a co-editor of IEEE Communication Magazine Special issue on VPN technologies, and has published number of articles in IEEE Comm. Mag. and other Journals. Luyuan has been serving as a technical committee member, and well as a frequent speaker, for several prominent MPLS and Networking Conferences worldwide. She has published over 70 technical papers.
Luyuan received the B.S. degree in Physics from Jiangxi University, China; the M.S. degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University, United States; and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Flinders University of South Australia, Australia.

Victoria Fineberg

Victoria Fineberg is a Senior Member of IEEE and a licensed Professional
Engineer. After graduating with Masters Degree from the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign in 1989, Victoria joined Bell Laboratories, AT&T
/ Lucent Technologies, where she lead a variety of network architecture
and design projects. After Bell Labs, Victoria worked as an independent
consultant and provided extensive support to the Technical and Tutorial
Committees of the MPLS and Frame Relay Alliance. Presently, she works at
Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for the IPv6 Transition Office
and represents it in the industry standards bodies and in the DoD-wide activities
related to network design, QoS and security. Victoria's professional interests
include IPv6, MPLS, QoS, VPN, VoIP and security, and she has published several
articles and conference papers on these topics.
Javier E. Gonzalez

Javier E. Gonzalez is currently Sr. Product Manager with Huawei Technologies focusing on data and access technologies for major incumbents, alternative operators and MSOs. Mr. Gonzalez has more than eleven years of experience in the telecoms industry with roles as an independent consultant, as well as product management, product marketing and business development for Nortel Networks in the IP/MPLS space.
Mr. Gonzalez is a past ATM Forum Ambassador, has participated in major industry conferences and is an active member of the IEEE. Mr. Gonzalez has a vast experience in the Latin American, North American and European markets. He resides in Paris, France.

Matt Kolon is a Senior Technical Solutions Manager for Juniper Networks, where he has worked since 1999, and where he writes, presents, and teaches about the future of IP technologies. Prior to Juniper he was a Senior Member of Technical Staff for Hill Associates, where he trained and consulted for telecommunications providers; prior to that he was an IT consultant in private practice in New York City.
Matt has presented papers and seminars at networking conferences and trade
shows including MPLScon, APRICOT, NANOG, The China VPN Conference, MPLS
Forum Japan, and SuperComm. He is a co-author of two books, "IP Telephony"
(McGraw-Hill, 1999) and "Juniper Networks Routers: The Complete Reference"
(McGraw-Hill, 2002), and since 1994 has published many technical and non-technical
articles in industry journals and elsewhere.

Marc Lasserre

Marc Lasserre, co-author of the VPLS RFCRFC 4762, has 20 years of experience in the networking industry. In addition to RFC 4762, Marc co-authored several other IETF RFCs (RFC4664, RFC 4665) and Internet drafts related to MPLS VPN standards. Marc is a Principal Engineer for Alcatel-Lucent’s IP division. Over the years, he has held various technology leadership roles: Before joining Alcatel-Lucent, Marc’s most recent positions were Chief Scientist for Lucent Technologies and Riverstone Networks. He has been active in the design of Ethernet switches, ATM switches and IP routers. He has worked on system design, protocol design and implementation for such technologies as IP stack, IP over ATM, LANE, frame relay, PPP, and MPLS-based Ethernet. Marc is a frequent speaker at major telecommunications and networking conferences throughout the world.
Gary Leonard

Gary Leonard serves as Alcatel-Lucent's Director of Mobile Solutions Marketing within the IP Division.

Gary brings over twenty years of experience in the data communications industry
and has held various technical, marketing, and sales positions with Xyplex, Racal Datacom, 3Com, Fore Systems/Marconi Communications, Riverstone Networks,
and Lucent technologies.
He has been a contributor and member of the IEEE 802, the ATM Forum, the 10GE Alliance, and Vice President of Marketing and member of the Board of Directors of the IP/MPLS Forum.
He attended Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts where he
studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He presently lives
in Holliston Massachusetts with his wife and two children.

Monique Jeanne Morrow

Monique Morrow is currently CTO Consulting Engineer at Cisco Systems, Inc.
She has over 20 years experience in IP internetworking that includes design,
implementation of complex customer projects and service development for
service providers. Monique has been involved in developing managed Network
Services like Remote Access and LAN Switching in a Service Provider environment.
Monique has worked for both enterprise and service provider companies in
the United States and in Europe. Monique led the Engineering Project team
for one of the first European MPLS-VPN deployments in 1999 for a European
service provider.

Hari Rakotoranto

Hari Rakotoranto is currently part of Cisco MPLS Product Management team.
He is also working very closely with service providers/Interoperability bodies (ISOCORE/EANTC...)
in the field of MPLS (VPN, TE, GMPLS....) on technology deployment and overseeing future directions.
He has worked as a software engineer, pre-/post sales technical consulting on different technologies:
layer2/3 switches, routing protocol, network management and Unix kernel design. He is an active member
of ITU-T SG13 focusing mainly on MPLS, MPLS OAM and MPLS Management.
Dr. Yakov Rekhter

Dr. Yakov Rekhter joined Juniper Networks in Dec 2000, where he is a Juniper Fellow. Prior to joining Juniper, Yakov worked at Cisco Systems, where he was a Cisco Fellow.
Yakov Rekhter was one of the leading architects and a major software developer of the NSFNET Backbone Phase II. He co-designed the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). He was also one of the lead designers of Tag Switching, BGP/MPLS based VPNs (aka 2547 VPNs), and MPLS Traffic Engineering. Among his most recent activities is the work on MPLS Multicast, and multicast in BGP/MPLS VPNs and VPLS.
His other contributions to contemporary Internet technology include:
Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) and IP address allocation for private Internets.
He is the author or co-author of over 60 IETF RFCs, and numerous papers and articles on TCP/IP and the Internet. His books include:
"MPLS: Technology and Applications" (Morgan Kauffman, 2000) and "Switching in IP Networks: IP Switching, Tag Switching and Related Technologies" (Morgan Kauffman, 1998).

Bruno Rijsman

Bruno Rijsman has over 12 years of experience in data networking. He is
currently a distinguished engineer at Juniper Networks. He joined Unisphere
Networks in 1999 which was acquired by Juniper Networks in 2002.
Bruno's responsibilities at Juniper include the design and implementation
of BGP, MPLS, and layer 3 VPN features for the Juniper E-series of broadband
service routers, the M-series of multi-service edge routers, and the T-series
of core routers.
Prior to Juniper he worked on SONET/SDH transport systems at Lucent Technologies
and taught computer science at Huazhong University in Wuhan, China.
Bruno received his M.Sc. (Computer Science) degree from Delft University
in the Netherlands where he grew up. He presently lives in Arlington,
Massachusetts.
Nikhil Shah

Mr. Nikhil B. Shah is responsible for developing wireless and convergence solutions, portfolio strategies, and supporting partnership initiatives at Juniper Networks. He serves on the IP/MPLS Forum Board of Directors, where he is also a VP of International Development. Mr. Shah has over thirteen years of telecom industry experience, including product management, technical sales/marketing, alliance management, standards, professional services, and software engineering. His current focus includes positioning Juniper and partners’ portfolios in QoS aware multi-service packet transport, mobile RAN backhaul, backbone, and IMS-FMC networks.
Mr. Shah’s prior experience includes eight years at Alcatel-Lucent, where he was closely engaged with developing partnerships and integrated solutions with Juniper, Riverstone, and other data vendors. Prior to Lucent, he worked with Zeitnet (acquired by Cabletron) in ATM switching and network management, Tata Consultancy Services, and ISRO, India. He has frequently spoken at various industry conferences/events and has contributed to various standards development projects. Mr. Shah received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science from Gujarat/Mumbai universities in India and he holds a diploma in Business Management from Mumbai. He has also completed the Greater Boston Executive Program through the MIT Sloan School of management in Cambridge, MA.
